• Following 9/11, economic constraints forced this vacation company to rethink the way they printed their travel documents • Two major constraints were identified: _ only 1 month to transition to an outsourced solution _ no interruption in the printing ROLE of PROJECT MANAGER
• Design of a quick, workable solution to meet one month’s deadline • Coordination between U.S. vendor and Paris IT offices for validation and implementation of initial solution • Proposition of additional business rules supported by business case for additional savings • Coordination with vendor for the implementation of additional business rules • Constant monitoring of costs, processes, etc. • Replication of the solution in Canada

S o l u t i o n
• Outsource the printing of the travel documents to a print house located in Chicago • This implied the set-up of the right flow of data between the IT development team in France and the printer located in Chicago • Given the time constraint, the layout of the document had to remain exactly the same R E S U L T S

![]() Document management rules were further fine-tuned, leading to 20% cost savings (production, shipping, etc.) between 2004 and 2005
