P R O B L E M
• The vacation packages sold by this leading company only included their ‘contracted’ fares • None of the scheduled air fares were available for instant purchase as they required manual intervention by a back-office department. ROLE of PROJECT MANAGER
• Gap analysis between proposed interface solution with Amadeus'ValuePricer for European countries and the US market needs (dynamic package pricing, web fares, variable margins) • Coordination between IT development teams in France and functional teams in the U.S. • Validation of functional requirements • Preparation of testing scripts and coordination of testing results • Preparation of training module
“This project was extremely complex, working with airlines, GDS, Programming Staff in Paris, and the end users in Miami. She managed every facet of the project flawlessly. Managing our time, deadlines, meetings, and testing and really brought an insurmountable task to completion. I was thrilled to have worked with her on this as well as other projects. Now in another position at another company, I have become spoiled by her efficiency and compare all other project managers to her high standards.”

S o l u t i o n
• Build an interface between the company’s reservation system and SABRE, the leading GDS in the U.S. • This allowed the reservation agents to instantly get the best package proposals (both contracted and scheduled fares) for a certain destination • All sales parameters (fare restrictions, payment schedule, cancellation terms, queuing for ticket printing, etc.) were automatically built into the system R E S U L T S
![]() Increased revenue: one year after implementation, 80% of all packages were sold through the interface
![]() Very little training required as none of the usual GDS screens/commands were used
![]() Cost and time savings as key sales parameters (like payment amount, schedule, etc.) were calculated and imposed automatically
![]() Automated and streamlined process in the ticketing department
![]() A module was later added allowing the application of “floating margins” on packages'price, depending on a set of criteria such as destination, city of departure etc., leading to even greater revenue
